Is picking only available on weekends?
Our orchards and fields are open for picking daily, July-October. Not all crops are available every day all season. During harvest season you can call our crop hotline at 520-384-2084, Option 1 to check availability. Also check our “Weekly Crop Harvest.”
I want to pick my own fruit and vegetables. What do I do?
Upon arrival and before beginning to pick, you must check in with staff. We will provide you with picking maps, instructions, and let you know where and what to pick and update you on everything going on that day. Not all varieties are ripe at the same time. We carefully monitor the fruit and veggies and only open for picking the areas that have fruit or veggies ready to pick.
Can we eat fruit right of the trees?
Certainly! If you must, you may sample one. Keep in mind we always recommend washing your fruit or veggies before eating it. Please do not be wasteful.
Why aren't you open year-round?
We are open during the months of our harvest, July–October. Each year we close both farms on October 31. Our weather is growing much cooler by then and we’ve often had the first hard freeze. During the winter and spring months the trees aredormant, and the fields are bare; it istoocold togrow produceduring these months.
Can we take family pictures at the farm or orchard?
Yes! You are more than welcome to take family pictures while you are visiting our locations. For professional photography sessions, please visit our photography policy for more information.
Can we visit your locations after hours?
No. All locations are working farms and are not open to the public other than during our posted public dates and hours. Please respect our hours of operation and do not visit outside these hours—its trespassing.
Is Apple Annie’s organic?
We are not certified organic growers; however, we use organic methods of pest control whenever possible. At Apple Annie’s we practice IMP (Integrated Pest Management) an effective and environmentally friendly pest management program that uses a combination of common-sense practices for pest control.
